Incarnation

God the Son, was with God the Father since the beginning of all creation. It’s in the Bible, John 1:1-3, NKJV. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

God sent His Son to save us. It’s in the Bible, John 3:16-17, NKJV. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

God the Son, came into human flesh to live as we live. It’s in the Bible, John 1:14, NKJV. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

God the Son lived with us to reveal that God is with us – He knows our trials, griefs, and joy. It’s in the Bible, Matthew 1:23, NKJV. “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Jesus, God the Son, came to save us from our sins. It’s in the Bible, Matthew 1:21, NKJV. “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Although Jesus was God, He willingly was born in the form of man. It’s in the Bible, Philippians 2:5-7, ESV. “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

Although Jesus was God, He came to serve us and give His life to pay for our sins. It's in the Bible, Mark 10:44, NKJV. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

It's not we are seeking after God, but God in Jesus came to seek we who are lost. It's in the Bible, Luke 19:10, NKJV. "for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus Christ, came as man and died on a cross. It’s in the Bible, Philippians 2:8, NKJV. “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."

Jesus took on humanity to show us who God is and what He really is like. It's in the Bible, John 14:7, NIV. "If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." and verse 9, "...Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father."

Jesus came to give us eternal life – eternal life is knowing God. It’s in the Bible, John 17:1-3, NKJV. “Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

Jesus Christ came in the human flesh and suffered and was tempted, so He can help us in our struggles. It’s in the Bible, Hebrews 2:17-18, NKJV. “Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”

Jesus feels with you and knows your weaknesses – He can give you mercy and grace in your times of need. It’s in the Bible, Hebrews 4:14-16, NKJV. “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
